Women's African Drum Performance Group
Alode' (ah-low-day) is a song that originated in West Africa from the Yoruba people and is loosely translated, this is who we are and we are proud. Alode' is definitely a proud, all women's African drum performance group led by djembe instrutor Elizabeth Orleski. They are a relatively new group, but their talent and positive, infectious energy have already had an impact on those who have heard them play. Thay have performed for a few First Friday events in Binghamton, at Night Eagle and at the Forum for Heart of the Arts Awards. They are women from all walks of life including a business owner, computer programmer, social worker, administrator and even an organic farmer to name a few. They are , Carol, Judy, Elizabeth, Kam, Patty, Bonnie, Megan & Lisa. Life is a celebration and this group wants you to feel their joy and DRUM !
